Flotillas from all ends of the Scottish Canal network meet at the Falkirk Wheel for a weekend of fun and entertainment.
Building on the success of the Lowland Canal Carnival in 2019, Scottish Canals is hosting the Scottish Boat Rally on the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals at the Falkirk Wheel on 23 & 24 May 2020 as part of Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters 2020.
At last year's Lowland Canal Carnival the largest ever flotila to take place on Scotland’s canals travelled the Forth & Clyde Canal with 70 vessels, from steamboats and coastal rowers to Clyde Puffers and narrowboats, to celebrate the reopening of sea-to-sea transits on the Lowlands.
The 2020 event is supported by Visit Scotland’ Year of Coasts and Waters.
