Stewart Liddle

Stewart Liddle is recognisable by his trademark red overalls and Breton Cap, Stewart is often found at the oily end of operations keeping the fleet of LUCS vessels fully functional.

From pivotal member of the self-styled Black Hand Gang to Society Chairman there are few roles that he hasn’t at one time or another shoe-horned himself into. Not given to blowing his own trumpet (being a trombone player in real life) outside LUCS, Stewart has spread his influence wide in the world of volunteering, from member of the erstwhile Scottish Inland Waterway Association to treasurer of the Lowland Canal Volunteer Group (LCVG). Not only was he responsible for refurbishment of Lochrin – the LCVG workboat – but earned the Group’s undying respect for bringing the job in on budget, maintaining his sharp wit throughout.
